I’ve enjoyed a wonderful career at Boeing. Originally hired as a mechanic, a brief stint at management, it didn’t take long to realize my true calling has always been driving professionally for a living. I taught myself how to drive trucks in Eastern Washington (hauling livestock) following 5 years in the Air Force. I followed that with several years driving owner operator out of the Mid-West thanks to connections with my brother, then returned to the North-West driving for Gordon Trucking and Boeing at the same time for three years. Lot’s of happy memories in those early days at Gordon’s when Sandy would come along on weekend trips, then off to Boeing together Monday through Friday. Below you will see just a small sampling of some of the equipment I have driven for Boeing over the years.

Early in my career I was fortunate to drive this special truck for Boeing that was used to cebrate the company's 75th annivesary. My retirement will be on the company's 100th year anniversary in 2016, just 7 years away.

While Boeing doesn't do a lot of over the road work, I've had a few opportunities to do some long haul work for them. Driving this comfortable Volvo makes the out of town work a pleasure. Below are some pictures of the interior.

The drivers seat as seen from the upper bunk bed.

Small lavatory for freshing up and brushing teeth.

TV for entertainment and fridge below.

Lower bunk also makes into a table with seats on two sides.

Lots of storage and cubbies for personal gear.

Another very specialized truck frequently taken on out of town trips to mostly military installations around the country.

This is my daily driver, and six years later than the picture date I'm still driving this same truck.

It's been a very reliable truck, the Cummins 5.9 and Allison transmission run like new many years later after demanding in town city driving every day.

For many years I drove the long loads out of the Fredrickson Plant to Everett every day. It's an interesting job pulling trailers that are 120 feet long containing wing components for all the large Boeing airplanes.

And the funnest job of all has been supporting a military program driving this motor home, trailer and the pickup truck, trailer behind it all over the United States. We always travel in teams together, and I've had the pleasure of working with great people on this job. As with every long trip, when it's over it's always good to be home, but there is nothing like seeing this wonderful country from 8' AGL (above ground level).
